China Times
Dear Ms. Wu,
Enclosed are copies of only a small fraction of the letters, faxes, and
email I've had to send for over more than four years in order to effect a
just (but still only partial) resolution of my illegal dismissal from
National Cheng Kung University. This has also involved picking up probably
hundreds of documents from post offices all over Tainan (I have to pick up
another one today), several lawsuits costing hundreds of thousands of
dollars, and the dedicated advocacy of only a few individuals who have a
sense of justice.
Yet this case, as I've said, is still not over: I have still not
received full compensation, full back pay, formal apologies, etc. which
letters below will more fully explain. In addition, however unbelievable it
may seem, not a single official involved in misconduct spanning several
years and countless offenses has yet been punished, removed from office, or
even (to my knowledge) given a single demerit. These are matters I think
your newspaper and the Taiwan public should know about.
Sincerely,
Professor Richard de Canio
